The Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) at the Student Recreation Center offers students and current members the opportunity to rent and use a variety of outdoor recreation equipment items commonly needed in our Colorado backyard!

General Overview
The Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) in the Student Recreation Center offers current members a variety of commonly used outdoor recreation equipment items to rent such as sleeping bags, tents, backpacking, snowshoes, and more.
Membership & Pass Required
Current Student Recreation Center members can purchase a Semester Pass to rent items from the Outdoor Gear Rental during the duration of the Semester Pass. Members must maintain both a current Student Recreation Center membership and Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) Semester Pass in order to rent equipment at the time of their appointment.
OGR Semester Pass
Online sales of the OGR Semester or Summer Pass can be purchased here. The total price of the OGR Semester or Summer Pass with sales tax included is $26.89.
Reservations Unavailable, First Come-First Served, and Equipment Requests
The Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) does not accept reservations for rental equipment. Equipment is rented “as-is” on a first-come, first-served basis.
Rental Period
The Rental Period begins on the Date of Rental specified on the Outdoor Gear Rental Contract. Appointments to return equipment must be made on or before the date listed on the contract. The standard Rental Period is five (5) days unless otherwise noted on the contract. Renters have the Rental Period to both use and return the equipment to the Student Recreation Center. Any equipment returned after the due date is subject to late fees.
Cleaning, Late, & Replacement/Repair Fees
Renters are responsible for returning all equipment back to the Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) in the condition it was received as indicated on the contract. CLEANING FEES – If equipment is returned dirty, soiled, stained, contaminated, muddy, etc., the renter will be assessed at minimum, $5 cleaning fee. LATE FEES ARE $5 PER DAY, PER ITEM. Once the equipment is late more than 7 days, the renter will be charged the full value of the equipment. REPLACEMENT, and REPAIR FEES, and all other associated costs will be charged to the renter with documentation and are subject to billing through CSU Accounts Receivable and are subject to regulations concerning overdue accounts.
Renter Equipment Quantity
All Renters are eligible to rent up to six (6) – single equipment items (example: one tent, one sleeping bag…) at a time for the Rental Period as indicated on the Outdoor Gear Rental Contract. Student Recreation Center Members may purchase one (1) additional Semester Pass to rent a maximum of two (2) single equipment items (example: two tents, two sleeping bags, etc.) at a time for the Rental Period as indicated on the Outdoor Gear Rental Contract.
Refund Policy
The Outdoor Gear Rental (OGR) Semester Pass is non-refundable unless approved by the Assistant Director – Outdoor Programs. Refund requests can be submitted in accordance with Campus Recreation refund policies and procedures.

AVALANCHE GEAR
CSU Campus Recreation does not provide technical training for avalanche gear. We strongly recommend you receive formal training from a certified agency, before traveling in backcountry terrain.
The American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education offers multiple courses throughout the winter in various parts of Colorado. Note: We will provide this information as a service to the renters on a case-by-case basis.
We also recommend to always check out the weather and avalanche forecast for the region you will be traveling to. The Colorado Avalanche Information Center has detailed information, forecasts, and maps to help keep you safe in the backcountry.
