Hell’s Belles is the club women’s and non-binary ultimate frisbee team at Colorado State University. The team currently has about 20 members that play year round against other college club ultimate teams under the national governing body, USA Ultimate. The team travels to tournaments across the country throughout the school year competing in places such as Texas, California, Missouri, and Ohio. In the fall there are typically two travel tournaments and in the spring, the main season, the team will typically travel to three to four tournaments in addition to the series which consist of Sectionals, Regionals, and Nationals all upon qualification.
While a smaller team, the success of the team builds each year. At the end of the 2021-22 season, they qualified for Nationals for the first time in program history and returned to Nationals at the end of the 2022-23 season placing 9th place.
Beyond ultimate frisbee, the program provides students with opportunities for leadership, responsibility, community, and quality athletics that will benefit players long after they graduate. One goal the team prioritizes is cultivating a welcoming, supportive, and positive community for students to be a part of. Womxn’s Ultimate is a way for students to build friendships, find community, and have fun while playing a growing sport.
