Memberships

Campus Recreation offers a variety of memberships to students, staff, faculty, spouse/partners, and CSU affiliated parties. Expand the titles below to learn about each membership type, and how to apply. 

Full-time Activity Fee Paying Students (enrolled in 6 or more credits on campus for that semester)

Your membership is included if you are paying full student activity fees for the current semester. Access for summer semester requires students to be paying full time student fees for that term, if a student is not enrolled in full time status and paying full student fees for summer they can purchase a part time student membership.

Part-Time Students, CSU Continuous Registration Student, & Student Spouse/Partner:

  • If you are interested in using the facility for a single day you can purchase a $5 day membership. Single day memberships may be purchased for Intramural Sports events. For questions, please contact campusrec_imsports@mail.colostate.edu.
  • Fall & Spring Semester memberships may be purchased for $140.00 per semester, $35/month, or $20/week.
  • Summer memberships are offered from Mid-May to early August and can be purchased for $93/summer, $35/month, or $20/week.
  • In order for spouses/partners to purchase a membership both the CSU student and spouse/partner must bring in a bill, lease, or piece of mail that has both individuals names on it. The CSU student and spouse/partner must be present at the purchase of the first membership in order to sign paperwork. The CSU student is responsible for informing the Department of Campus Recreation if their relationship with their spouse/partner has terminated.

*Membership Refunds:

Memberships are nonrefundable unless you are separating from the university or have a documented medical excuse. All refunds are subject to a $5 processing fee and can take up to two weeks to be processed.

Adult Dependents of CSU Faculty/Staff/Students

Adult dependents (over 17 years of age) have the ability to purchase memberships only during the summer months. Summer Membership options are $93/summer, $35/month or $5/day. The sponsoring CSU faculty/staff/student must be present at the time of purchase of the first membership. Both the sponsoring adult and the adult dependent must provide proof of their relationship (birth certificate, driver's license with same last name, tax forms, etc.).

CSU Employee & Employee Spouse/Partner

A membership must be purchased in order to be eligible for entry. Please refer to the chart below to see the various membership rates. Day memberships are available for purchase for $5/day throughout the year. In order for spouses/partners to purchase a membership they must bring in a bill, lease, or piece of mail that has both individuals names on it. The CSU employee and spouse/partner must be present at the purchase of the membership in order to sign paperwork. The CSU employee is responsible for informing the Department of Campus Recreation if their relationship with their spouse/partner has terminated. Student employees and Graduate Assistants do not qualify for the employee rates listed below, they are eligible for the student rates listed above.
If you are interested in participating in the Intramural Sports Program you must maintain a CSU Recreation Center Membership which includes a single day membership (single day memberships must be purchased on the day that the individual is playing the Intramural Sport).

Please note, CSU employees on a 9-month contract who wish to utilize the payroll deduction payment option may only do so during the months of September through April.

One Month Free Membership Trial

CSU Employees and Employee Spouses/Partners are eligible for a FREE 1-Month Membership Trial @ the Student Rec Center.  The Student Recreation Center offers to all CSU employees and their spouses/partners free, unrestricted access for one month – whatever month an employee chooses— to make full use of the cardio and weights facilities, climbing wall, classes, track, pool and more. During your one free month membership trial you will also have the opportunity to schedule a one hour fitness assessment with a personal trainer to help assist you in meeting your fitness goals. This offer is only valid for employees and their spouses/partners who have not already taken advantage of their one free month. This offer is not valid for CSU student employees, graduate assistants, teaching assistants, research assistants or non-student hourly employees. Just bring your CSU ID card to the Service Center located in the lobby of the Student Recreation to sign-up your one month free trial membership and to schedule your free fitness assessment!

Commitment to Campus Rates for Full-Time Employees

In support of the University Commitment to Campus wellness initiative, CSU subsidizes the price of a Campus Recreation Membership by 50% for any full time salaried employee, Administrative Professional employee, State Classified employee, part-time AP employee, Faculty, Instructors, Associate Researchers, and temporary AF/AP employees. Spouses/Partners of CSU employees, CSU student employees, graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and research assistants, and non-student hourly employees are not eligible for the below rates. CSU Affiliate Member & Affiliate Spouse/Partner

Current Approved Affiliate Groups

Official University Retirees
  • To be considered a "retiree" an academic faculty member, administrative professional or state classified employee who is a participant in the Defined Contribution Plan for Retirement (DCP) or who is a participant in the Colorado Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) appointed or reappointed on or after 7/1/05 must be:
  • Age 55 or greater with at least 20 years of "service" or
  • Age 60 or greater with at least 5 years of "service"
  • Service for this purpose includes periods of employment with CSU during which the person:
  • Received, or was eligible to receive, the University's contribution to the DCP or to PERA
  • Had an appointment of at least half-time
  • Received, or was eligible to receive, the University's contribution toward benefits, for example health insurance (Ben-Pay, Cost share or State classified insurance match).
  • Periods of service need not be continuous but there must be a minimum of five consecutive years of service immediately preceding the date of retirement. Periods of paid or un-paid leaves of up to 1 year in duration during which the person received, or was eligible to receive, the University’s contribution toward benefits shall be counted as service.
  • PERA Participants Appointed Prior to June 2005
  • CSU Official University Retirees need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services to verify their retiree status and to obtain approval to purchase a membership. Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval.

Academic faculty, administrative professional or state classified employees who are participants in PERA and who were appointed on or before June 30, 2005, or reappointed only on or before that date, who are eligible for "retirement" (full or reduced) under the PERA provisions at the time of separation and who have at least five consecutive years of service at CSU in a half-time or greater, benefit eligible appointment immediately prior to the date of separation are considered "retirees".

CSU Degree Granted Alumni

Degree granted Alumni of CSU need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services to verify their alumni status and to obtain approval to purchase a membership. Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval.

Osher Institute Members

Osher Institute Members need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services who will verify their Osher Institute status. Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval. Once the enrollment has been verified.

CSU Global Students

CSU Global Students: are CSU Students enrolled in classes and degree seeking programs ONLINE. CSU Global Students need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services who will verify their CSU Global status. Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval.

ROTC

ROTC instructors, faculty, or administration that currently work for the various ROTC groups on the CSU Campus. ROTC members need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services who will verify their CSU ROTC status. Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval.

CSU Visiting Scholars
Visiting Scholars of CSU departments are eligible to apply to be Affiliate Members. Visiting Scholars can submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form online or at the Campus Recreation Service Center. Visiting Scholars will need to request that their sponsoring department send an email of verification of their status and length of visit to the Assistant Director of Member Services. The Assistant Director of Member Services will verify their status. Verification can take up to 3 business days.
Alumni Association Life Members
CSU Alumni Association Life Members are eligible to become Affiliate Members. Life Members can submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form online or at the Campus Recreation Service Center. The Assistant Director of Member Services
will verify their status. Verification can take up to 3 business days.
CSU Health and Medical Center Partners

Employees who work for the partners housed at the CSU Health and Medical Center need to submit a completed Affiliate Membership Application Form to the Assistant Director of Member Services who will verify their status.  Once the application is submitted it may take up to 3 business days for application approval.

Affiliate Member Spouses/Partners

In order for spouses/partners to purchase a membership they must bring in a bill, lease, or piece of mail that has both, the spouses/partners name and the affiliate members name, on it. The CSU affiliate member and spouse/partner must be present at the purchase of the membership in order to sign paperwork. The CSU affiliate is responsible for informing the Department of Campus Recreation if their relationship with their spouse/partner has terminated.

Please click this link and fill out the affiliate member application form. It may take up to 3 business days to be approved to be an Affiliate Member and you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that your affiliate status has been approved. Affiliate Members are now eligible for Intramural Sports if they maintain a Off-Peak or Full Hours Membership.
