Event Overview

Instead of hosting the annual Night at the Rec event this year, Campus Recreation is offering several virtual engagement opportunities throughout move-in week for new students to get acquainted with the department’s facility, programs and services while highlighting specific operational changes due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Events and Programming Schedule

  • Each program area will host both an Instagram (@csurec) takeover and a Zoom info session throughout the week. These will be scheduled on the same day.
  • Each program area will also offer one program or activity that will last the duration of the week.
  • All program info and related Zoom and video links are available below.

Hello There! Welcome to Intramural Sports here at Colorado State! While we wish we could get together and greet all of you in person, alas 2020 had other ideas for us. Instead, we hope this little “scavenger hunt” will help get you familiar with where the different Intramural programs takes place on and off campus. It’s simple, follow the clues or coordinates, snap a picture of yourself (a simple google image will work for our off campus sites) at the various locations, submit using this google form, and be entered to win a complimentary IM Membership for the fall 2020 semester.

Remember, social distancing is still a thing so please don’t gather in groups to complete this challenge, besides only the person submitting the pictures gets entered to win!

Intramural Facilities/Locations

Location 1

Enjoy the beautiful Front Range views from any one of the three places locals like to hack it around, watch your head if you hear fore – we wouldn’t want you to get hurt before the semester.

Location 2

This location wasn’t built for this game but any true tailgater knows that it can be played on all kinds of surfaces, dropping one in the hole is still worth 3 points

Location 3

Our most widely used space for programming is truly versatile, think of a sport that uses a ball and it’s probably played in here. Pre-pandemic, fans would pack the balcony to get a bird’s eye view of the action

Location 4

A hub of activity March – November this space isn’t just reserved for Intramurals, you’ll also find sport clubs, drop-in activities, and even dogs (lots of dogs) running about.

Location 5

If swinging a club isn’t your thing you can still try and go low in the former shadow of Hughes Stadium. Our other location finds itself nestled among the trees in one of Fort Collins most popular parks.

Location 6

Head due south of campus where you’ll find the sound of squeaking shoes and the pop of florescent balls against strings. Bringing a furry friend with you to campus? Our nationally acclaimed pet hospital is right next door.

Location 7

Flanked by the Student Recreation Center on one side and the Indoor Practice Facility on another, projectiles take flight on the green as participants try to be crowned the best Archer, not to be confused with the cartoon

Location 8

Hopefully you have some gas in the tank and a few extra layers for protection because this is the farthest (and potentially most painful, ouch) location we host. Markers and masks are essential to best your opponents here.

Location 9

This space is so adaptable that it once served as part of the Lory Student Center, home to an array of drop-in activities it’s easy for campus recreation staff to forget which net they should be setting up

Location 10

Our time on loan in this facility, it allows Intramurals to play field sports in winter months. Just be ready to burn the midnight oil as several D1 teams are using this space before 8pm.

Location 11

Home to an arcade and laser tag, Intramural participants try to avoid the “moats” and roll their way to victory in their spare time
