FIT - Fitness Instructor Course

FIT is a 10-week non-credit course that prepares you to become a group fitness instructor. The class meets once per week for 3 hours and includes lecture, discussion, work time and exercise. You will learn the fundamental skills of fitness instruction and gain experience teaching both strength and cardio class formats as well as cycle for those who are interested. Upon completing the class, you will be able to take the American Council on Exercise (ACE) group fitness instructor exam to obtain your nationally accredited certification (Exam cost not included). Following the class, you will have the option to audition for a group fitness instructor position with Campus Recreation.

Come to a FREE information session on January 30, 4:30 - 5:00 pm in Meeting Room B.

PFT - Personal Fitness Trainer Course

Get the training you need to become an ACE certified personal trainer. Learn the skills necessary to help clients achieve their goals. This course prepares you to take the American Council on Exercise (ACE) national certification exam (Exam cost not included) and the next step to becoming a Personal Trainer at Campus Recreation.

  • Dates: February 11th- May 1st (10 weeks)
  • Days and Times: Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:00 pm
  • Cost: $189.00 - includes books and training materials
  • All classes meet at the Student Rec Center, Meeting Room A&B
  • Registration opens January 21st at 8am and closes February 11th @ 9pm
